Which Service Do I Need?

A few quick questions about your situation. You get the service that fits, what to bring, and the next step. Nothing you choose is sent to us.

Your situation

1. Who is this for?
2. Which of these apply? Tick any.
3. How would you like to work?

What fits

Answer the first question and your result appears here. It updates as you tick the rest.

How the result is chosen

Anything with a clock on it comes first. A letter from the IRS or the South Carolina Department of Revenue has a response date printed on it, unfiled returns keep adding penalties, and business returns cannot be prepared from books that are not there. After that, the result follows what you ticked.

Most people tick more than one box, and most situations need more than one service. The first result is where to start; the rest are what usually follows.

What the finder does not tell you

It gives no price and no timeline, because both depend on details a short questionnaire cannot see. How we quote explains what a quote is based on, and you receive one before any work begins.

It is also not advice on your situation. A short conversation will confirm or change the result.

Service finder questions

Is anything I choose in the service finder sent to you?

No. The result is worked out in your browser and nothing you tick is transmitted or stored. If you book a consultation from the result, the booking form asks for your details and the recommended service is already ticked.

I ticked several boxes. Which do I deal with first?

The first result. It is chosen by urgency: a letter with a response date, then unfiled returns, then books that need rebuilding before a business return can be prepared. See respond to an IRS letter if a letter is involved.

Can one firm handle my personal and business taxes together?

Yes. Many of our clients have both, and keeping them with one preparer means the business figures and the personal return agree. See tax preparation and bookkeeping.

Not the question you had? The full tax FAQ covers more ground, and our client reviews say what the work is actually like.
