Why Choose Us

We understand that bookkeeping is more than just data entry. It is about helping business owners stay organized, make informed decisions, and remain prepared for tax season.

When you work with our firm, you gain a partner who understands both your finances and your tax obligations.

The Smart Choice for Your Business

Managing everything on your own may seem like a way to save money, but it often leads to added stress, missed opportunities, and costly mistakes.

Working with a professional gives you the structure, clarity, and support needed to operate your business more efficiently and make confident financial decisions.

What bookkeeping costs

Professional bookkeeping for a small business typically runs $200–$500 per month, depending on transaction volume, how many accounts there are, and how tangled things have got. A hybrid arrangement — you handle day-to-day entry, we review and reconcile — typically runs $100–$250 per month.

Those are the going rates rather than a quote: which package fits, and what it costs, depends on your volume, and you get a figure before any work begins. Either way it is a fully deductible business expense.

If you are weighing it against doing the books yourself, the real comparison is not price against zero — it is price against your hours and the deductions that get missed. We set that out in DIY versus professional bookkeeping, and the signs you need a bookkeeper covers when it stops being optional.

Bookkeeping questions

How far behind can my books be before it is a problem?

There is no threshold at which it suddenly becomes serious — it gets steadily more expensive. Catch-up work costs more per transaction than current work because context is lost and questions have to be asked rather than remembered. Books that are years behind are still fixable; they just take longer than books that are months behind. Catch-up bookkeeping explains how the rebuild works.

Can you take over books someone else set up?

Yes, and it is routine. We review how the file was set up, correct the chart of accounts and any mis-categorized history where it materially matters, reconcile from a clean starting point, and carry on from there. We do not require you to start again from scratch.

Do I need monthly bookkeeping, or is quarterly enough?

Monthly for any business with employees, inventory, meaningful transaction volume or thin margins. Quarterly is genuinely adequate for stable, low-volume operations with no employees and nobody external asking for figures between filings. We will tell you which you actually need rather than defaulting to the larger service.

Which software do you work in?

Both QuickBooks and Xero. Either will keep a small business’s books competently, and the setup matters far more than the choice — most broken books we take over are broken through configuration rather than software.

Will you also prepare my tax return?

Yes, and for business clients we recommend it. Handing the books and the return to one firm removes the most common source of year-end friction: the preparer asking the bookkeeper for something the bookkeeper never knew to track.

Do you handle payroll as well?

Yes. Payroll runs alongside bookkeeping as a combined service, which keeps wage entries, tax deposits and the general ledger consistent instead of reconciled after the fact.

Not the question you had? The full tax FAQ covers more ground, and our client reviews say what the work is actually like.
